What’s every Artist Marketing campaign needs

Over the years with the evolution of the internet, technology and the ability to reach people directly has changed what we know as artist marketing forever. We have digital marketing, advertising, general marketing, product marketing and a slew of other fancy names for awareness and the ability to identify and reach your target audience. 

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, it’s more than one way to skin a cat and marketing falls into the same category. There is no right way to reach people. No one way that’s better or more effective. The best artists and creatives have characteristics and experiences that make them unique. Those personal traits, feelings, beliefs and moral convictions combine to create your brand’s tone, feel and look. 

How do we market that? We take the time to understand it. Understanding the brand’s story and its underlying reason for existing is crucial to embedding your brand into your audiences hearts and minds. Only then can we expect our intended audience to connect and resonate with us and our message. 

Instead of getting tied up with release dates, rollout campaign metrics and expectations. Start with a few questions like these, “Who is this for?”, “Why are they supposed to care?” or “Where are they supposed to receive this? How are they supposed to feel? 

As you gain deeper insights into your audience, their likes and dislikes, you’ll begin to see much more impactful campaigns for yourself or your artists.
